PITCH
In March 2019, on the occasion of its 140th anniversary, the Grand Théâtre de Genève celebrated its restoration and reopening. For this event, le truc created a visual and auditory feast tracing the history of the opera house which was projected on to the façade of this heritage building. Through transformation and warping special effects, the statues and mouldings come to life to tell the theatre’s story. The 10-minute film was projected four times at sundown to a large public audience who came to enjoy the video-mapping and accompanying music at Place Neuve in Geneva. This is a very modern and novel approach to tell the tale of a historical place of art.

For this ambitious project, we needed a partner that combined the technical expertise to map the numerous and complex details of the Grand Théâtre’s façade as well as the creativity and imagination to grasp the history and DNA of the Geneva opera house and translate it into a striking and memorable experience. And le truc exceeded our wildest expectations.
